DWI Fatalities in Bergen County have been reduced. The Council was instrumental in creating the county-wide task force on alcoholism and drunken driving. This task force has been integrated into the advisory committee of the Bergen County Office of Highway Safety.
Teenage Drinking and Host Liability were some of the topics of the Councils annual legislative events for the past ten years. Each one focuses on crucial alcohol and drug abuse issues.
Adoptive and Foster Parents of FAS Children now have a monthly support group which meets at the County Community Services Building in Paramus.
The Bergen County Juvenile Officers Association now has the Council as a member agency and we work closely with DARE officers in Bergen County. By conducting alcohol and drug abuse trainings for these groups, current information is shared and communities are well served.
Project Find is a Council outreach to the elderly which identifies those needing treatment through specialized workshops.
Clergy in Bergen County receive information and training from the Council.
The minority population in the City of Hackensack is served by one of the Councils outreach Counselors.
A bi-lingual counselor is also available in Hackensack and the Council provides outreach Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors in other communities in Bergen County.
